I have used gizzards soaked in cherry koolaid and garlic salt with moderate success. There is nothing better than cut bait or worms though.
Stoped at the Safeway to get some chicken breast and Strawberry Kool Aide to make catfish bait and no strawberry Kool Aide. How does a safeway run out of strawberry kool aide? Substituting strawberry Crystal Light.

Still no strawberry kool aide around here. Was wondering than chicken breast with just garlic would do. Think about it and using chicken liver alone seem's a really good bait and can only smell like chicken guts! Think I'll put some sardine's in with my chicken and chrystal light, chicken of the sea!

Still hven't got out to try my catfish bait, boat still in the shop. Got to thinking about it a day or so ago. Have two bags of the chicken breast and opened one and threw in a can of sardine's. Now if a catfish will eat chicken with kool aide and garlic on it I can't imagine adding sardines wouldn't help. Closest thing to natural food in it and the oil has to be stinky!

I use Bar-S jumbo franks, raw, cut into 3/4" pieces, and sprinkled with Grape Kool Aide, in a ziplock bag. These pushed onto a 3-0 circle hook, and fished either on a bobber, or on the bottom, do the trick very well for me.
Bar-S dogs are the best I've found, as they sink ..... Most others I've tried float, and don't lend themselves well to bobber fishing ! A few tossed in to chum the area seems to get their juices flowing pretty quickly.

Really hard to believe some of the bait we fish with that actually work! Nice fish!

I have used Cherry koolaid and caught some cats on it
Use red food coloring ! Only takes a few drops
Strawberry or cherry both work.
Buddy of mine uses chicken breasts straight from the pack.
