    Default Kansas floatline fishing

I am looking to take a trip from Wichita and try jug fishing for the first time during the season. I am aware of the regulations but would like opinions on where to go.
Fall River, Toronto, John Redmond are closest and am leaning toward Fall River.
Trying to keep it as close as possible since its first time. Any suggestions are appreciated. TIA!

I am not familiar with kansas waters and the amount of catfish they have but Kaw Lake in oklahoma looks to be very close to the same distance as Fall River when coming from Wichita. lots of jug fishing in Kaw and a lot of big catfish. Had some friends go this weekend in the Arkansas and set Jugs and Limp Lines and they did real well. Nothing big, several 20+ blues and a couple 30+ flatheads. We fished a Crappie tourney this last weekend there and fish finder was showing large amounts of catfish in the creeks and the shallower water heading into the creeks. Kaw would be up to 20 jugs per angler and up to 5 hooks per jug.

    Thanks swollencrappie,
Kaw lake sounds great. I wouldn't have any problem give it a try but like i would really like to get my feet wet first before going after a larger lake. We would be more than happy with any action and hopefully a mess of 2-3 lb'ers. Problem is my boat. 14 ft aluminum semiV. 5hp. When i go out i usually pick a zone to fish so i don't end up wasting much travel time between spots.
One thing i worry about is how well the boat will actually work for float lining.
I plan on trying some setlines at eldorado also this year. As soon as i make sure they are legal.
I have buddy that goes with alot and we usually drift the bottom but am trying to mix things up a bit.
