I use 2.5 pound nuts out of the oil field and let them set on the bottom. no so heavy it holds the jug when it has a fish but good enough that it doesnt allow the jugs to float freely all over the lake. If someone is watching the jugs and staying in the area, letting them float around works well. I dont like to stick around long after I set them. I have a LOT of success using jug lines. now is the time to get the supplies if your gonna use swimming noodles. wont be long and they will be taking them off the shelf and will be hard to find. I usually buy 20 and that will make 60 jug lines for me.

We will take big solo cups and fill them with concrete and top with a bent 16d nail. One 80lb sack of quickrete will make several. They weigh about 7.5 lbs. Usually use 2l bottles painted orange. We try to set them just not floating. We still have found lost ones 1 mile up current, up wind with a 20 mph wind.

Hey guys, I'll have Swollencrappie's pontoon at the Oklahoma burn camp gathering on August 9th at Hudson. This will pretty much limit me to catfishing (darn it, right?) LOL. the problem I have is I have only fished Hudson one time over 25 years ago. I don't no anything about the lake. Anyone have knowledge about where to fish for kitty on short notice like this?

    thanks in advance
    Pappa

    Crappiepappa,

I have only fished below the dam snagging. I'd try calling the local game warden and letting them know the situation, maybe google a local baitshop and try them. Sometimes they are more forth coming with info if they know it involves kids or a good cause.

Hello Fellow Whisker lovers --- Just trying to find out the water temp whisker fish like to spawn. I like to go after them with somewhat lighter tackle. in all my years of fishing for them I have only found them on the banks once, and have no clue of the Conditions they Prefer

Can't think of a better way to spend father's day than watching the ugly sticks bed down and catchin big blues. Caught and released over 20 blues this morning on cut shad.
