    Default Skipjack

I caught a few skipjack a couple weeks ago and got them in the freezer. I've been reading that several people are catching them below Barkley Dam now. I'm going to go down soon and try to catch a few more to have for baiting later on. Anybody else use them for bait?

I use them when I can find them. I mostly use brim or mooneye or shad.

I caught 45 today on white jigs at the dam. The river level is going straight up so I might have one more day to catch them. I won't go catfishing without them. Mooneyes are good also. I started using skipjack about 10 years ago and now I swear by them. Skipjack herring is an awesome catfish bait. I have some nice catfish pictures on page 2 of my profile pics all on skipjack. I catch monster flats on cut up skipjack. Flathead fishing I always make sure I caught the skipjack that day. Blue cats I'll use bait I've had frozen.

It's been a while since I've caught any but if memory serves me, they look just like a shad only with big eyes. I used to catch them below ky. Dam when I catfished there.
