Water level was up a good 4 or 5 inches from last week. Was a little cooler and cloudy skies kept the temperatures from going up quickly. I started at the deep end and had no such luck around 630 in the morning. I thought maybe the cloud cover was keeping them from feeding or something, as last week, catfish really picked up their bite as soon as the sun hit the water until about 10 or 11 am. I decided to go over to different spot where the water was a bit more shallow and try over there. This was the first time i would be using circle hooks. I had some trouble keeping the hot dog from covering the end of the hook, but once i split the hot dog in half, it made a difference. I landed a good 14 catfish today in the shallower water, 3 of them were keepers, the rest were too small. Not a bad day though. One of the small catfish knicked me pretty good as i threw him back. A few videos of the catch.
