Well I will try anything a couple times... But my favorite???
You know it has been working for years and if it ain't broke don't fix it, Night Crawlers work for me when nothing else does
I used to use BEE Jays bait and it was good but awful messy. This past fall I used some Magic Bait dough balls in Night Crawler flavor, and that stuff stinks to high heaven and the fish seemed to really go for it. I also tried some of the dried shad, I found at Walmart and suprisingly the catfish really liked them to. They seemed to work best if you put 2 or 3 on a single hook.
So what is your favorite bait. Manufactured or homemade. What makes em bite for you?

I fish a river that is wadeable in places, lot's of log jams, eddies, and deep holes. Nothing works better for me than live bait, and a very close 2nd would be crawdad tails, and if all else fails, chicken liver but that usually just attracts the little ones.
Danny King punch bait
depends on the catfish, for channels I say NATIVE nightcrawlers#1, sonneys dip bait#2, for blues I say fresh cut bait#1 and frozen cut bait#2. for flathead its big live bait, period.
I've always had luck with chicken livers
Hey y'all watch this
Last time i went to the shop, they didn't have chicken liver, just minnows and worms. So i can't say much about it, except i am anxious to try it. However, i have no clue how to use it. I would imagine just cut it into smaller pieces and stick it on the hook. I've heard some folks put it in a thin mesh screen and tie it off and then stick it on the hook.
But for right now, hot dogs and cheese works best for me. Someone told me to dry out the hot dogs in the sun to keep it on the hook long enough that the gills and other fish don't nibble it off the hook and the big cattie can take it.
Chicken liver has about the same consistency as snot lol, if you cut it up and put it on your hook alot of time it'll come off as you cast or the bream will come up and steal it off the hook before you can set it. What I usually do is get some women's panty hose and make a little sack for the chicken liver using these. Just cut the hose into little squares put your chicken liver in and tie it up, keeps it on the hook better and other fish can't come up and steal your bait. The cats can still smell the liver and havin the hose on it doesn't bother em at all. You will probably get some strange looks from the store clerk when you walk up with panty hose and chicken liver though :p
