Thread: Whats you favorit catfish bait?

I hate to say it but i will have to choose between buying it or using my grandmother's old panty hose. frightening.

Or i could just ask my sister to buy a pair for me. I'll have to tell her its for fishing though or she will react kind of weird.

Skipjack head first. then cut skipjack.

Live shad hands down. Fresh dead shad if we can't catch enough and lastly cut fresh shad

If you use turkey liver instead of chicken.... you won't need panty hose...... turkey liver stays on the hook just fine.... Cut into chunks and sun dry for a few hours on each side, it will be like soft leather, then bait a trot line..... works great

Oh we use 1/0 bait holder hooks also

I use cutbait most the time but as far as chicken liver the best way i have found to keep it on the hook is atlas magic thread or any kind of elastic thread. Just wrap around in every direction and pull till string snaps and its good to go. Ive actually have had a hard time getting the chicken liver off the hook at the end of a trip.

Chris I take some sewing string and just tear off a piece and run it around the liver a few times and it stays on great for me and a spool of string will last a long time and is easy to store in the box. Hope this helps.
