I PRACTICE CATCH & FRY---WHEN I CAN FISH AND CATCH:D
Tried noodling for the first time on Sat. in the Chowan River. I used chicken, just wanted to see how it worked...caught nothing, but I'm hooked. I can't wait to see the noodle doing it's dance with a nice catfish on the other end!!!
Quick question, what kind of line are y'all using for the noodling? When I watch on you tube, it looks like a heavy line, but I'm just not sure...
Line size and hooks depends on waters you fish and what your after. Here for big Flatheads or Blues we use live Sunfish with heavy 150 lb test braid and atleast 5/0 stainless steel hooks. If you only have Channels which seldom exceed 5 to 10 lbs you can go light. 50 lb line with 2/0 or 3/0 hooks baited with Catalpa Worms, cut Shad, or ect.

Thanks for the tip nimrod. I'm looking for the 10-15 lbs...
I use 32oz sport bottles sprayed yellow for easy seeming at night or day. I use a #5 to #7 hook with live bait. Any times I fish with chic liver I catch a lot of small fish. I use liver as chum sometime to get the little moving. I had a guy give me 35lb of craw daddy today for fishing with.
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.
