I know this sounds crazy but we have been running a comparison of cut shad versus garlic weiners for several weeks and the hotdogs are so effective that we no longer use shad. The hotdogs are sssooooo easy to make and just as effective. The only thing better is crawfish or grasshoppers.
i dusted and nuke me a hot dog.Cut it up in 5 pieces,,then i put the piece's in a bowl, covered them with cajun power garlic juice and now im going to let them set in the ice box for at least 24 hours in the garlic juice.Ill see how they do against cut bream with a coating of fish oil and reaper bait enhancer.Thumbs Up

Tried noodling for the first time on Sat. in the Chowan River. I used chicken, just wanted to see how it worked...caught nothing, but I'm hooked. I can't wait to see the noodle doing it's dance with a nice catfish on the other end!!!

Quick question, what kind of line are y'all using for the noodling? When I watch on you tube, it looks like a heavy line, but I'm just not sure...

Shad, bream, etc. Just expect to catch some gar this time of the year so have a pair of heavy gloves in the boat so you can get your hooks back.
Depends on the waters, here summer and early fall are best. Depth has alot to do with time of year .

Line size and hooks depends on waters you fish and what your after. Here for big Flatheads or Blues we use live Sunfish with heavy 150 lb test braid and atleast 5/0 stainless steel hooks. If you only have Channels which seldom exceed 5 to 10 lbs you can go light. 50 lb line with 2/0 or 3/0 hooks baited with Catalpa Worms, cut Shad, or ect.

I use 32oz sport bottles sprayed yellow for easy seeming at night or day. I use a #5 to #7 hook with live bait. Any times I fish with chic liver I catch a lot of small fish. I use liver as chum sometime to get the little moving. I had a guy give me 35lb of craw daddy today for fishing with.
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.
