    Good article. That is the only rig I ever used to fish and it worked really well in any body of water with a current. Now 95% of them time I don't use a leader at all, just a no-roll sinker-big bead-then hook. I have severely decreased my tackle loss due to snags and have not noticed a decrease in the number of fish I catch.

    Guys in the saltwater world use a variation where there is no swivel or leader, letting the snap swivel slide right down on top of the hook. It holds your hunk of meat up like a lollipop. Big red drum don't mind.
