Yeah well, not all laws are good laws and not all people that make those laws have alot upstairs. I respect all laws that make good sense. In some places tagging trot lines makes sense but where I fish it does not so I choose to ignore it. You do things your way and I'll do mine my way and you can hope your lines will continue to be there when you return to them but I know mine will be.

Good luck in your fishing endeavors....

Thanks for letting all of us know that your are POACHER, a Thief and Unethical individual among our ranks stealing not only from those that fish in Georgia, but by doing so, have given more fuel to the anti's with your illegal fishing methods. May the Law Enforcement officers of your state teach you a thing or two. Arragant azz!!

Good luck in your stealing of natural resources!!

Dude your freakin pyscho. I see why your lines have been cut. I know everyone that reads this is getting a kick out of your posts. I know I have. In all your pyscotic post you have yet to explain to me how I am catching anymore fish unfairly than the next man fishing a marked trot line. Or how I'm stealing natural resources??? Those fish are stocked in rivers anyway. Population gets low... they put more in. Listen my man.... A TAG DOES NOTHING FOR YOUR LINES ABILITY TO CATCH FISH. Thats all I've been saying. If it did I'd mark it. I really hope you can find some help somewhere man. Try a crossword puzzle or something.

You still do not understand what I've been trying to tell you. Ok, I'll try to explain it one more time. Marking or tagging your trotline has nothing to do with catching fish or numbers of fish, it deals with the legality of what your state wants trotliners, jugliners, limbliners, etc. to mark/tag their lines to be legal, not to catch numbers of fish.

You are the one stating that you do things legally where it makes sense, but if where you set your lines it doesn't make any sense, you don't bother with it?!? In this, what you are doing is disregarding the law set by your state Fish & Wild agency and therefore, you are fishing illegally, correct?

And you're calling me psycho...grow up and set an example!

I tell you what, I have a friend with the Georgia Dept of Fisheries and see what he says about your statements.

Have him show me any trot line / limbline that has a tag on it on the ocmulgee, oconee, altamaha rivers and I'll start marking mine. I've never saw any lines marked with anything other than some flaging tape. Its not just me around here than doesn't mark their lines.... NO ONE does. Not marking lines does not present a problem and therefore its not enforced. I agree with you, in lakes it would pose a problem and should be enforced. If it was enforced on the rivers I fish.... heck yeah I'd mark mine in a heartbeat to keep from getting a ticket. If your buddy has ever fish on these rivers he'll understand what I'm talking about. No one marks anything around here.

When you say "marking", does that mean showing where your line is or tagging it with your information? Maybe I'm not following you on verbage here. You didn't say it wasn't enforced in your above replies and I took it that when you said you ignore it, you were throwing regulations out the window. I see now we had a miscommunication on what is enforced and what is not. One can only go by what another person states...

Wow, things sure are different there than here...we MUST tag each trotline and jugline with our name, address and date it was set (good for 30 days) and then re-date it after time expires. This has to be done on fresh and saltwater lines and saltwater you HAVE to purchase your tags. If the water is navigatible, then even a creek with a trotline (more than 5 hooks) must be tagged.

Wish our regs. were a little less demanding here, but I think we'd have even more lines left out by the weekend warriors. Our game wardens have their boats filled with illegally set lines especially after Holiday weekends and one of the biggest one is coming up.

People around here only mark their lines with tape or whatever so they can remember where they are at. I've never saw anything marked with a tag as the rules book states nor ever heard of someone getting a ticket for not marking. For the most part you dont see many old lines left by fishermen either though. You'll see one occasionally but not very often. Alot of people fish limblines for those 100 lb cats but not many at all run the trot lines. People dont have to worry about me leaving my lines as I have alot invested in each one and usually get 8-10 yrs of use out of the lines/hooks/weights.
