Plus the blood stays in them until they start to thaw.
^Thats a great idea - might get me thrown out of the house by the misses though haha. Some people I know wrap the livers in pieces of panty-hose and then put them on the hook. Personally, i hate chicken livers period (smell). I do chum with them sometimes though, or I'll use night crawlers and dip them in the liver blood before casting. At 99 cents a carton and the availability to buy them at any grocery store, you can't overlook chicken livers. I've sometimes bought them when I decide to do some spur of the moment late night fishing and the bait shops are closed.

I wish i had a place around here to catch bull heads like that. The best flathead bait in the world in my opinion. I have a small swamp near by that i catch a few in for bait. i use a bream buster with split shot and night crawlers on the bottom seems to workfor me i also keep all the green sun fish i catch as they are the second best flat head bait.
