Default Crappie Day at Hodges 4-26 w/pics

    Hi all,

I'm new to this site but since I had a pretty good day at Hodges, I figured I share the report. In all, I got 18 crappie and 1 good sized bluegill and I fished from about 6:30AM to 11:30AM.

I got them all on the troll using a deep diving crankbait and road runners setup tandem on the line. Most of the fish were around 1.5lbs. with the biggest one just shy of 2lbs. I had a lot of multiple hookups today which is challenging when you are fishing by yourself. I lost a few fish but oh well. I actually got my first double hookup on the tandem roadrunners. At first I thought I had snagged with all the weight. The lone bluegill was super scrappy as he destroyed the crankbait and actually peeled off some drag on my baitcasting reel:D

The weather was really nice until 11AM when the typical wind picked up. It will be really fun once they find their way up in the shallows.

Hey Milo, I actually went to Dixon to clean those fish. Good job noticing that. I had no desire to clean 19 fish in my backyard.

I tried to catch the crappie bite at Henshaw but I got skunked That place turned off as fast as it turned on.

We'll definitely get together and slay them.

    Eric
