    Default Lake Camanche 05/09/2015

Lake Camanche 05/09/2015. 85 degrees, wind 10-15 mph. Water level is very low but still able to launch boats. Launched north shore, boat ramp is very steep. Fished from 10am-5pm. Trolled around the new boat docks near the ramp and caught one 15” small mouth and released. Weird, but caught a 12” trout on a curly tail, kept for dinner. Side imaged the dock and only saw a few shadows which indicated only bass. Not there for trout or bass so left to the south area. Found the crappies bunched up near a deep channel, probably coming off the breeding ground. Landed 20+ over 11” and kept them. Release 30+ under 11”. Took out some new crappie fishermen so I spent more time tying jigs and fixing my 11 year old nephews constant bird nest. Was worth it! Got my nephew off his PST for the day.

Nice, thank you for the report. Yep, taking newbies out can be trying, but well worth it when you see the look on their face when they catch a fish.

Off the video games and on the water is a great thing. Glad you took the time to let your nephew known there is a whole world outside of the games.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
