piru is the only one i know of for sure. I heard there are some slews off the colorado also. Down tward san diego are some good crappie lakes i hear.
I need some suggestions on what lakes to start with. I live in the Palm Springs area but I'm willing to drive a little ways to get to some good crappie water. I have a new 12ft inflatable boat with a trolling motor and a decent size battery. I'm brand new to fishing for crappie, so any pointers would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Ok, thanks. I went to Lake Elsinore last Tuesday for nada. Nobody else was catching either except for a couple caught from shore. They said a week before, the crappie bite went off pretty good. Then tapered off just in time for when I went. LOL! I hate that! Called down today and its still slow. They said it should go off any day now. Tons of shad in the water! You can see the schools of shad come and go on the fish finder. All in 10 to 20 feet of water... Might try a dip net for shad next time I go. Water clarity is pretty bad so I assume that might help my shad catching chances. Wont be able to see my net coming at them. haha
