Went out to Lopez for a couple hours morning, Caught several small ones, nothing over 9 inches. Every one was having a slow day. At least from the bank. It was a real nice day, warm and no wind.

Went back out to Lopez this morning, one word WINDY. Cool temp too. found a nice little cove out of the wind and started fishin. Caught about 12 nice little crappie 10-8 inch range, I was giving them to a retired couple who were fishing there too.
A co-worker was out there yesterday and today. He and his brother have been using home made lures, and doing really good. Over 100 crappie yesterday before they had their limits of 25 each. Leting the dinks go. They were on the same run of numbers this morning. WOW
The boat guys seem to be doing good, but I fish from the bank.

    Default Lopez Lake 5/30/06

Went out to Lopez Lake Monday morning May 30, morning before the campers got up. It was nice for a little while. Caught a few dinks, let m go. It didn't take long for the lake to wake up for the last day of the Memorial Weekend. Kinda wish I would have stayed home. I checked out several of the good spots and they were all taken, I didn't see any body catch any fish. Then I noticed that the other local fisherman weren't at the lake either, only weekenders. Hmmm that when I got a good idea. I went home. I did see one thing kinda funny. Several boys where chasing some girls around this hill side. All of them wearing shorts and tank tops. Oh the energy of a young person. The only problem was the hill side was covered in poison oak.
