    Those are some great modifications you made. Well thought out and skillfully executed! What are the specs on the gas struts? I would like to add some to my hatches, too.

    I purchased them from Amazon Apexstone 100N/22.5lb Gas Strut,Gas Spring,Lid Support,Lift Support,Lid Stay,Gas Props/Shocks,Set of 4 really cheap!! Instructions are metric measurements, I just converted to inches and went for it.
