Default Offset Seat Post opinions please

I am considering an Offset Seat Post to alleviate a clearance situation I have. I have read mixed reviews with some saying they like them so much they bought two to those who say they spin around too much to be useful. Has anyone had any experience - positive or negative - with one?

I use one when fishing alone and have no problems, didn't want to drill more holes to move my racks a little forward so I opted for one of these. I think platform has a lot to do with it, in a smaller rig that you get a lot of lean and movement from someone moving around in the boat or a boat wake then there could be a problem, on a more stable platform I have not had any problems and it solved my issue of seat placement.

Clint ... I've used one for decades, and wouldn't be without it. In fact, when I sold my second boat, I kept the post and used it when fishing from a buddy's Tracker TX17. Any movement in the rear of that boat had me leaning in the opposite direction to compensate, and that was very tiring after awhile. The offset post allows me to simply swing the seat instead of compensating with my body position. It also allows my long legs to reach "out" to the trolling motor foot pedal, rather than having it directly underneath my knee, making downward heel pressure against the foot pedal less of a strain.
I use it now, on my 16' Procraft, for many of the same reasons. And I'd much rather "swing around" with the seat, when the boat rocks for whatever reason, than be rocked side to side in a stationary seat. It's also much more comfortable to sit in a seat with the offset post, especially for us 6'+ tall people, as it allows your legs to stretch out & not be set in a 90deg angle all the time.

    ... cp

I didn't care for the one I tried. I wanted it to stay put and it was always wandering around.

I think I have my conflict worked out, but if I do end up needing one I'm going with one from EZ Pole Perch rather than an S shaped one. Looks much more stable.
