To do what ? 7 ft. light ,fast tip will cover most situations done with a shorter rod .
New to crappie fishing and can't get a straight answer on the rod.. Should I go with a ultralight or light power rod????

What is your style of fishing? I use BnM TCB Leland for slip, cork fishing minners and jigs. I use BnM Russ Baileys for jigging treetops and structure. Pulling Cranks I use Daiwa Wilderness Med Heavy 8 footers. You will get lots of answers from folks and none of them are right or wrong. Just individual preferences based on how the rod feels performs, balances etc.

As said above, how you plan to fish factors in to your decision. I've come to like a rod about 6 1/2 feet, ultra light or light with a fast tip would be my suggestion.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
Just my 2c here, but i just picked up a Berkley C-series Crappie Pro Spinning 6'6 rod from Walmart. Nice rod for the price point, light action, painted white tip makes it easy to see. I liked it so much I grabbed another one today.

Mostly what's offered at the auction house that looks good and a great price.
I like my Duckett Crappie Slayer 6.5ft. A little on the pricey side, but I have put more fish in the boat with it than the dollars I spent on it and its been very durable so far.
Each to their own but I have learned that I do not like ultra lite or a lite rod I prefer a medium action rod with a fast tip for crappie and I love a 7’ rod! If possible put your hands on a rod to see how it feels to you ! Have wasted lots money on rods that I didn’t like because I have bought them on other folks recommendations and it not suit me!

Best to try one if possible before buying.
