I'm sure they're both good rods. I have a couple of Southern Crappie rods, and I really like them.
I had a Predator and I used the B'n'M PST14' and wished I had of bought the 16's or longer which I am doing now, I believe the further from the boat the better you are and less chance of spooking fish especially in shallower water.
