Good for you!
I got skunked on Crappie Saturday at White Oak Lake. Sunday afternoon found me alone and bored with the wife working and none of the kids home. So, I decided to run over to our pond and kill a little time. The algae is growing pretty thick on everything right now, especially around the bank so I opted for a spinnerbait. We'd had a little rain and the water was more stained than I thought it would be when I tied on a willow leaf. Prob would have done better with a Colorado. Wound up scratching out 7 in about an hour. All of them looked like they came from the same mold. I even hooked my ol girl Dorothy, but she caught me by surprise and I didn't get a good hookset. About 4 good head shakes and she threw the bait. Haven't seen her since last May. She weighed 8lbs 11oz then. Would really like to see what she would weigh pre-spawn. My son caught her in March last year but we didn't have a scale with us.
This is her when my son caught her. For reference he is around 6'1" 275lbs.
Good for you!
