Another vote for beetle spin. Either white culry tail body with pink head or Black/chartruese split tail body with chartruese head and gold spinner. HOT!

I too use a beetle spin but i use unpainted heads with a small pink grub. I buy a kit with jigs and spinners and grubs from wally world for about 10 bucks. catches the heck out of bass and crappie.

I like Lindy Thumpin shads either in 1" or 2.5" sizes on a bullet jighead. They cast a mile and the action always seems to draw a bite. They recently changed their color scheme from blk/slvr bottom to blk/wht bottom. haven't used the new ones but might get some soon and try 'em out. I wore crappie out on beetle spins with white curlytailed grubs this past spring. I used a 1/8 ballhead jig.

Hard Bait: the yozuri pin minnow in rainbow - caught trout, gills, crappie, perch, lmb, smb, rockbass, fallfish, golden shinner and even have had pike break our line.

Soft Bait: 1/16 or 1/8 oz jighead with a little tubie, paddle tail, or grub
    Soft Baits are my favorite.

Personal best smallie for me caught on 6# mono and 5 1/2' ML rod out of a canoe. Just glad I brought the net.
And here is a pig largemouth of got on the same set up and glad I had a partner in the boat with me this day.

Got this one with in 10 feet from the boat next to a patch of weeds.

Spinner: of coarse the bettle spin and also the joe's fly spinners are nice too.

Those are some good size fish there! Man on 6# mono?I won't fish for those guys on anything under 12#.

And on real thick weeds and pads i tend to stick with the 20 pound braid...I lose way too many fish if i use anything under that. I like using the senkos rigged weightless.

we use 1/32 oz chartreuse jig heads with 1 1/4 inch pink micro shad on 4lb test from May through most of August in stained water impoundments.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
