Double check or even add and additional ground wire between trailer and truck. Sounds like you may not have good enough ground and its feeding back into brake light system thus kicking off the cruise because it thinks you have applied brakes.
I have a 06 f150. The cruise works as it should until I pull my boat, then the cruise will kick out when I turn on the turn signal. I have checked all the bulbs on the truck and trailer, including the third brake light on the cab and all are working. Sometimes, the cruise won't engage, but only when the boat is hooked up. Haven't tried it with any other trailers. Any ideas?

I'll give that a try. Thanks, Cray.

Update. Added the extra ground and also found that the wiring inside the tube frame had lost it's coating in several places. New led lights, all new wiring and an extra ground and it worked flawlessly on my recent trip to Louisiana.
