I would be very careful on placing anything in a city lake, if it is used for drinking water for that city they get pretty upset with that.
and I also have found it there is not a reg. on it, you best not do it.
Was just curious if there are any regulations on placing structure in MDC managed Lakes. Specifically a city lake which the city has no ordinances on placing structure but the lake is managed by the MDC.
Smile, it kills time between disasters!

It is usually a "no-no", but you can always check with the local agent. They definitely don't want tires and such, but some may allow trees
City lakes, especially those that are used for water supply, have to be treated carefully. Cedar trees are avoided because as they're needles break down a chemical is released that has to be removed for drinking water. As such we typically use hardwoods in those lakes and there are limits on how much we can put in due to DNR water quality regulations. We try to provide plenty of brush piles in our lakes for anglers to enjoy. If you see a need talk to the biologist in charge and he/she can point you to some locations you may not know about or get some new ones installed.
