Contrary to popular belief, game wardens/ conservation agents do not have to have search warrants. That is why they assist at times in criminal cases where a warrant can't be obtained.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

Beg to differ, Gordon. I had to look this one up myself to verify, but in paragraph 2 it says they do.

My freezer was searched one time without a warrant for an illegal deer. The officer said he was there on a tip. He searched all my outbuildings, barns, and freezer, found no trace of any deer. At the end of his search he decided that he had the wrong address!

And then there's that. Most states do not. Arkansas is one of those or at least used to be.

Did you give them permission, knowing there was no deer present? Just curious.

Now that I think about it I did give permission. It was many, many years ago.

I've posed this same question to a friend of mine who is a conservation agent. Since I fish several different states including MO, MS, IL, Ky, TN and AR. I sometimes keep fish from each state. The answer he gave me was you are allowed to keep each states legal possession limit. Each catch has to be labeled with the state taken as well as your name and permit number from that state.
As far as unwarranted searches, as a former LEO, I will guarantee that the 4th amendment to the U.S. Constitution applies to everyone!!! No agency has the right to unwarranted search and seizures. If permission is given to search, then no warrant is necessary. This is a common urban legend that I encounter in just about every state I fish.
Thank you for your input MDCAgent663 Clay.

In Arkansas, fish and game that has been processed and stored in your home, does not count toward possession limit.

The laws in effect where wildlife is taken shall determine the legal take and possession limits, except that Missouri limits shall apply on Missouri waters unless otherwise provided by reciprocal agreement. Fish taken in another state on a sport fishing permit by methods not permitted in Missouri may not be possessed on waters of the state. This Code shall apply immediately when wildlife is transported into Missouri, except for interstate shipment neither originating in nor destined for Missouri.

Seems pretty plain to me, go to Oklahoma buy a permit, catch 37 a day, tag and bag them, fish for 100 days bring them back to Missouri put 3,700 fish in your freezer and you are good! Last I checked OK has no possession limit. Down there they say once it is cleaned it is not a fish it is food!!!! Gordon just don't stop at Truman on the way back and take those fish out in your yak
