Thanks for the info Craig. gonna have to find a new route to Cottonwood.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started construction to replace the Marion Bridge, which is the bridge across Marion Reservoir Dam, last fall. Due to safety concerns, there will be no public access to the stilling basin area, along the dam crest road itself, or within a 500-foot perimeter of the construction zone on the face of the dam until the project is completed in the spring of 2020. Contact the Marion COE office at Marion for more information - 620-382-2101.
I had heard something was going on from a buddy who walks the dam. Thanks Craig.
Thanks Craig. I looked it up on google earth also. Looked like it went through.
The construction project has been completed. The road across the dam is now open. The stilling basin is also open to public access, but vehicle access is restricted to the south side only. The north side should be opening in the near future.
