    Default creel limits

    Craig,
I got into a debate with a friend about creel limits on private waters. Do state creel limits apply to private waters such as watershed lakes on private property?

I also hunt this private land so does that mean the state bag limits for deer, quail, turkey, & pheasant do not apply?

I think our creel limits are pretty liberal.

It's my understanding that if the game is wild all the state seasons and bag limits apply. Wild game does not belong to the landowner where they might be found and pursued.

    sah,

LBM provided a very good link in his post.

Unless a water body is a private water fishing impoundment, then statewide length and creel limits do apply. The definition of a 'private water fishing impoundment' can be found HERE.
