What size walleye do they stock? Thanks.
hello; used to live at stockton and I find it a very good lake. It is like everthing else just have fish it to know it. Moved here to warsaw last nov. 011 and still haven't figure this lake out so far. Used to catch alot walleyes and the crappie fishing is very good. Length limit is 10 in. so the crappie are alot bigger. and there is a lot of difference between a 9 in and a 10 crappie for sure
What size walleye do they stock? Thanks.
they sock 3 to 4 in. and somewhere around 750,000 and up. it is stocked every even year. at least I still think so.
Stockton gets stocked with 750,000 small (<2") walleye fingerlings every other year, and sometimes gets more if there is surplus from the hatchery. Small fingerlings (<2") are what all the MO reservoirs that are in the walleye plan get, the exception is a lake that might get extended growth walleye for a study
How long does it take a 2" walleye to get to legal size on Stockton Lake?
Hope they are throwing some in Truman. Love to catch them as a bonus fish.
Takes, on average, around 2 years to get to 15" in MO reservoirs...which is extremely fast growth. Those little guys...if they make it through the initial stocking, are 9-10"ers by october (5 months)...Yes, Truman gets walleye....Truman gets 150,000 every other year, plus surplus sometimes...oh, almost forgot, the stockton walleye stocking may be changing in the near future....a little less fish, but stocked every year instead of every other, I'll have to confirm with Adam boman on that one.
All the walleye that i have caught out of stockton have been nice size ones. I need to hear from the stockton group to see if any one catches any short ones in the 8"-12" size.
I have over the last several years caught lots of small walley, 5 to 12 in range, mostly up the creek arms of sons creek and greeser creek....
