    Default Vacation Suggestions

We are planning to vacation in your state. My boys and I love to fish for crappie here in Kansas. Vertical presentations are what we use mostly along with some casting. We really prefer to have the possibility to catch really big crappie if we had a choice. Here is the question:

What lake could be a good destination using our techniques? Is there anything else to do in that area to keep the wife satisfied?

I would really appreciate any/all suggestions.

Lake Greeson or Beaver. Contact Darryl Morris or Jerry Blake for Greeson or JT for Beaver...all great guides on here! You and the boys will have a great time with them! As for the wife ...when you figure that one out let me know!
Was that a bite? Forgot what they feel like!

I'd say Greer's Ferry lake....Pretty scenery....Your wife might like knocking around Heber Springs, it's in the hill country so it will be different than Kansas, not far to the Buffalo river if you think you might like a float trip for small mouth and the scenery doesn't get any better, if the crappie aren't biting you and the boys can fish below the dam for trout. Summer time crappie can be tough. I fish at night or troll bandit crank baits morning and evening and catch a lot of big crappie. Call or email the Arkansas tourism board for a vacation planner and it will give you ideas for the whole state.

    Good spots have already mentioned.
I will recomend Greeson with Jerry and Darryl. I am sure J.T. is just as competent on Beaver.
Greeson has the diamond mine close by. Hot Springs is not too far away either.
Eurika Springs, Civil War battle feilds, and Fayetteville are all close to Beaver. I need to get up into Bentonville myself to look at the Walmart stuff in that town.
My wife and I are taking the kids out camping on an island on Quachita in a couple of weeks. Between me and my wife, I am the biggest sissy. So, she really enjoys camping out there every year.

Just to add to what DRPEPPER says, there is a cold water fishery below the Narrows Dam on Lake Greason with Trout fishing and the Albert Pike area north of Lake Greason in the Ouachita National Forest is a nice area to.

You will probably catch more fish on Greeson but as far as scenery goes Beaver is the place. Look me up if you decide NW Arkansas.

I really can't add a lot. Greeson, Beaver, and Greers Ferry are all very good choices.

One other place near Lake Greeson is Hot Springs National Park. Good place for the family. Might keep the Mrs. happy.

If you are coming during the summer, the diamond mine at Murfreesboro can be mighty HOT. It's a big ole field with little to no shade. Having said that, folks find diamonds down there year around and the thrill of the hunt helps one to ignore the lack of shade for a while.

Come on down, there's really not a bad choice.
