    Default Little Maumelle River

Awfully quiet board. The Little Maumelle River stays consistently productive. A lot of small crappie but over the course of a couple hours Saturday morning kept six nice slabs. Caught close to 25 but again, a lot of smaller fish in that. All caught between 10 and 12 feet. This is on the lower end along Two Rivers Park. I wonder how it is up above the Pinnical Valley bridge?

    Default Good Spot

Hey Jhook seen this post thought I would share with you how I get em there in the winter. I love to fish this river too. I launch at the 430 ramp and usually motor up to the County Farm road bridge. Beyond this bridge you will start to see all kinds of cypress trees in the water. I slowly work each tree along the main channel jig poleing with two poles working tube jigs 1/32 oz head, no bobber, just off the bottom. Seems that the live trees always do better than the stumps here. And when I come to a small cluster of trees along the channel I really take my time on these. I like black/char, red/char,
yellow/wht and pearltruse here. If current is a factor i will add enough split shot about a 18 " abouve the jig to help keep the jig down. Also if you like minnows try slip bobber rigs about six or seven feet deep and keep moving until you find a tree or trees that have fish. You may already know this river has some very wide spots in it past the bridge, so keep your eye on the depth finder to stay in the deeper main channel and work the trees and stumps along it. I always do this first and if it aint happening I will work the trees and key areas up on the flats and along the banks. Good luck and hope you get some and maybe will see each other up there some day.

Crappiepro thanks for the insight on the upper part of the LMR. I've been up there but not fished much. Seems I always get hooked on the lower end. Went Sunday morning early. Caught between 25 and 30 but all very small. First time that's happened on the LMR. Not sure where the bigger ones were. Fished the bottom up to about 7 feet and all small. But, it was a beautiful calm morning. Enjoyed it. I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm in a 16 ft Alumacraft flat bottom with a 25 hp Yamaha.
