Nice lookin' "three" Chris. I suspect they're beginning to move up into the river. Gotta go to Detroit tomorrow for a meeting and won't be back until next week so maybe by Halloween they'll be on an hopefully so will I. Gold Creek is coming alive also.

Hey AJ, there's no cypress trees on the lower end of the Little Maumelle River.
I was talkin' about goin' above the bridge on the upper end. I have not been there in years and years, but if I lived close, I'd be there with a long jig pole fer sur.

Hey AJ, I plan to try the upper portion sometime next week...well, that's unless Gold Creek keeps actin' right...:D

Been fishin' that lower section of the LMR since I moved to LR. It can be fantastic at times and a bummer others, but it's usually dependable for at least a few slabs. Just started fishin' the upper part of the river this past spring, after LRJoe kept twistin' my arm to get up there. I really like that section of river, but just haven't really put the time into learning it. I'm a free man for the month, so hopefully I'll have some time to fish it.

Hey AJ, ever hear much about the part of the river up around Hwy 300 bridge?

CEB , sounds like you got into some Skipjack (herring). The catfishermen claim they are awsome bait as they are an oily fish. Glad you caught a few Crappie. The bite slowed yesterday here on Nimrod lake for our jiggin.

CEB, the 300 bridge is the Big Maumelle River. I have only been in it once and that was about 5 years ago.

The lake in the Ranch is doing good right now. Talked to some folks and they had a limit yesterday by noon. All of them around one pound. They were fishing the deep water. There is a ledge that is full of brush. On one side it's 8ft the other is 13ft.

I am sure you know were it is.

LRJoe - the lake at the Ranch? I've heard of this but don't know exactly where it is. after you pass under the Pinnical Valley Bridge how far is it up river? Do you go beyond the big waterworks pipes? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks for the ID, Nimrod. I'm more of a shad boy myself... And if the cats like 'em, and they're a bitin', I guess you could find a few cats down in the channel...might have to look into that...

And thanks for the update, LRjoe. I need to work my way up there...maybe when things settle down a little after this front.

And sent you a PM, Joe.

jhook, go under the water pipes and keep going. When you get to the big house on the right, it is back on the channel on your left.

You can see your way better on Google Earth.

Thanks LR Joe. I've been up that way but am really not familiar with the area. That's a long way up the LMG, where do you normally put in?
