    Default Burnt cane

hate to even mention my favorite lake but here goes. i have been dissappointed with 9 mile this year.last couple of years i had no trouble wearing them out fishing the deep cover. The water has stayed higher than normal and they just don't seem to be there in the numbers of past years. instead of 200 or so, i have been getting between 10 and 40 with maybe a dozen or so decent fish. I haven't been catching many little ones. In the past it was common to pull up to a spot and catch 20-30 dinks. Now i get a handful each trip. I always heard that when the river got into an oxbow it restocked the lake. I now believe that many of the fish headed for greener pastures while the water was up. Or is it that the water is just high and they haven't really started to hit the places I fish?

If the water there is like everywhere else, it is still dropping, which makes for some hard fishin donchano.

I know what you mean BullSprig. I was laid up all summer from surgery, and only made a couple of trips out there, but didn't do real good when I did go. Hopefully things will improve soon as it gets cooler. Haven't heard any super reports from there lately either.
