Check with Dano at Gold Creek on Conway. See how the rain effected him. I know all of N. Arkansas is hurting with so much water. The lakes above Bull Shoals will dump all their water into Bull Shoals, so it will likely be weeks before BS goes down.
Me and Miss Tammy had planned to go to Greeson this weekend for my birthday to fish and camp... were going to go out one morning with Darryl (my birthday present to myself) and then fish on our own the rest of the time.
Well Darryl called me this afternoon and said to not bother to come to Greeson as the water is already in the parking lot at Kirby and still rising, closing some of the camping areas!
Anyone got any ideas on another place to go camp and fish at maybe one of the state parks that might not be affected so much by all this rain? Cane Creek, Village Creek, Poinsett, Lake Charles? The only one I have ever fished is Cane Creek and that was back right after it was built so any of them will be new to me/us. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. PM me if you don't want to post it here.
We could stay here and catch plenty of fish at the lake here at the house but we kinda wanted to get away somewhere new and go camping.... Maybe I should just pitch the tent in my yard! :D

If you're too busy to go fishing, you're too busy!
dont come to the n w corner they have shut down some of the ramps due to high water

Go to Old Town, just 50 miles futher for you....
Old Town would probably be in decent shape.
Might also think about Morgan Point (just outside of Pendleton with nice campground), Peckerwood, Conway...just to name a few of the places that I wish I was fishin' at right about now...
Thanks so much for all the advise and suggestions. This is a really special group of people who are always willing to help, you don't know how much I appreciate it!
Are there places for tent camping on Peckerwood? Have always wanted to fish there but never have given it a try.
Have never been to Old Town either, is that around Helena?
I wish the White River was down right as I would love to hit the Refuge around St. Charles, grew up fishing that and know it well but from the sound of things it will be several weeks of dry weather before we can even think of that.
I know Peckerwood has camping areas owned by the ramp operators. I've seen several RVs but not too sure about tents. Goocher should have a little more insight.
And, be sure to read the recent thread on Old Town so you don't camp in the wrong spot.
Sent you a PM Heavy Chevy.
A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

I suggest Old Town also. You could camp at the lake at Mauldins or camp or get cabins at Maddox Bay which is about 30 minutes away. Old Town is between Elaine and Helena on Hwy 44.

Hey Shawn, I really sorry your birthday weekend got messed up. I just thought it best to let you know the conditions before you made all that effort.
