Congrats on the buck. and I agree, I don't know if I ever seen one with a black face.
That buck was trying to slip out as dogs were running on both sides of the area. I perfer to still hunt but it's hard to do around here. Those old bucks tend to slip away when the dogs get after the does and young bucks.
The coloration must be an inherited trait ,I've noticed different areas tend to have color dfferences in animals.
Hope your season is going well. Please post a picture if you get a good one Gooch.:D

Thanks, Don't know about everyone else ,but we grind a lot of burger and sausage meat. Can't beat fried backstraps , mashed taters, bisquits, and milk gravy. My son loves venison jerky.Originally Posted by ceb

Here is my 7 y.o. daughter Micah with her first deer. She was using my Rem. Mod. 7 .308 and Rem. Managed Recoil ammo. She shot it bout 50 yds away right through both lungs ALL BY HERSELF. I'm one proud daddy!!!

You tell Micah that we are all proud of her. And to be shooting a 308 at that, I would think it was a little big for her. Congrats to her again.

Great job Micah, will be some great memories for both of you.
A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

The ammo she is shooting is Rem's. Managed Recoil...like shooting a .243. She handles it just fine.
