My local shallow lakes are getting tougher, big fish getting smarter and more timid. What you could get away with at a 30 feet range 3 years ago seems to be expanded to 40- 50 feet now. Pitching 25 feet out with a 16' pole is close to my limits. Im seeing them get wind of me and just trucking off at 25 feet. No more searching for fish these days with FFS. No more making a fish come to your bait or having to work a bit for its meal. We all just head straight to them and apply the pressure immediately. More fish on the bottom it seems like and more feeding at night. Going to have to be sneaky and quiet this winter to drop on these lethargic, cold, big roamers.
