    Default Cane Creek


    Does anyone ever fish Cane Creek Reservoir at Star City? I went there a few times several years ago and once attended a Crappie dot com gathering there.

    The gathering there was really great. I believe C.E.B. ram roded it. Some of the handles I remember are L.A Stumpjumper, Daryl Morris, Creekside, Dr Pepper and there were several others but I've never been good with names. I haven't seen any post from the men in several years.

    Lots of Crappie and lots of stumps. Many stumps just under the surface. Take care with your outboard, trolling motor and transducers. Bent my Lowrance Ti and had to rest it on the transom. Run at idle and watch other boats to see where they run.

    Used to see Stumpjumpers posts about huge Crappie there . Have heard nothing in years about the lake .

    I was at that gathering. A lot of fun. The site was on fire back then with gatherings, Crappie Camp etc. CEB was very active. Young guy in med school. Used to see him a lot at Little Maumelle River. I was Jhook back then. I think most of us drifted away. Got busy with other things. But still fishing. Seldom check in here anymore. Probably should
