    Default Where to go?

Out of my element here lol. Wife and I are at my buddies place in Hot Springs and he wants to go fishing and has never fished for crappie. I almost exclusively vertical jig visible structure, cypress trees, stumps, dead falls in my home area. What lake should we think about trying? I’m use to a small winding river through the swamp not these big deep lakes. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I forgot to ask him about his electronics so i don’t know what’s on the boat yet but I think just down imaging.

I would think any of local lakes or even Greeson is short hop from there

Tourist and pleasure boaters abundant in HS. Not crappie fishing lately but big bream are still biting on lakes in area.

Don’t fish over there a lot but I would try Greeson. If you have gps look up way point’s for brush piles before you go.

Check out the Ouachita River below Malvern. East side of Interstate 30. I’ve never fished it but drove by and looked a couple of times.
It should be low. The banks are lined with lay downs. Might be your style of fishing.
    Check it on google earth.

Wound up only fishing Hamilton. I couldn’t find the crappie but did find some trout and bream. We had a blast regardless and watching his daughter catch was priceless!Name: IMG_2852.jpg
