I want to do like my grandpa, and scalp the yard about July 1, "... so's I won't be having to mow the darned thing so blasted much!.." but wifey objected.

I tried to talk her into some goats too, but nooooooooooooooooo....

I have a trick that works to slow the grass. After mowing ,spray selective weed killer (MSMA) . This is to kill out weeds ,but it also yellows and slows down the grass.

LakeNimrod: As of Wednesday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports the lake’s elevation at 350.80 feet MSL.

Local angler Billy Blankenship said the water is a little murky and high. Crappie fishing is excellent, in water 12 to 14 feet deep, on chartreuse/red jigs and minnows. Catfishing is also excellent on trotlines.
*from the weekly AGFC fishing report 7-25-07*
Does someone know something OR WHAT:rolleyes:

The fishing report is always behind. On the 17 of July, I was catching Crappie. The Cats moved to the brush and were hitting set lines. Our baited holes went dead as Cats left for the backwaters. The report is always off a week seems like most of the time. Usually when the water falls the fishing slows and move back out. The crappie bit some last weekend when you could find them. Slabbandit and I both posted the were slow.
