I am the one that gives the weekly fishing report to the AGFC. Here was this weeks report

    March 1, 2023

    Horseshoe Lake

The water temperature has continued to rise. This week the water temperature was 52.5 as the day started and was 54.6 by end of the day. Keep in mind that is surface temperature.

Crappie—Better but not where it should be this time of year. Spider rigging was putting some fish in the boat and some were single poling and they were catching a few as well. The fish are still very pale as they come up from the deeper water. Fish we caught were 15-18 feet deep in 16-21 feet of water

    Bass—no report

    Bream—no report

    Catfish—no report

The wind has been critical on the lake this year as they are still in deep water. That south wind is killing it! ?. Days that it’s calm enough to fish, we are bringing in 15-25
