Default Absolutely Beautiful Day to Crappie Fish!

Got a chance to take the new Ranger RT 188P out for a few hours today. Not near as many people out as I figured. Lake was like glass. Ranger with the 115 Mercury and a jackplate hit 51 MPH by GPS coming back in!
Fish for me were a little reluctant to bite till I switched a few baits out. Caught a bunch on a 1/32 oz. J&D Outfitters hair jig in Grey/Grey/Chart. and caught some really nice ones casting a Roadrunner type bait in an 1/8 oz with a Monkey Milk colored Slider Grub with a Chartreuse tail. I've noticed a shift in the guys livescoping to casting a jig on spinning equipment. I'm in the early learning stage but it's a blast to real those bigger, spooky fish in from a distance.

    Today's catch

Now that’s some good catching. Lots of cleaning but lots of tasty fillets too! Good job.

Good job - that looks like a lot of meat for somebodies freezer - It's great to see somebody different posting a detailed fishing report and not just adding some commentary. I remember how this site use to be a few years back, Almost on a daily basis there would be several different people sharing their fishing experiences. Hopefully others will start contributing. I haven't been on the water in two to three months (been in the hospital and dealing with some health challenges) but I am doing a lot better, and itching to feel the thump. Thank you Lord. Again Nice story.

Thanks RL! Good to hear from some of the old Arkansas members. I'm getting back into crappie fishing heavy again after a few years of not doing much. I got a new rig last year and we're really looking forward to using it a lot. Yes, I hope to stir interest again in the Arkansas Forum. I remember all the good conversations we used to get going on here.
