Crappie dot com lost one of its OGs, a Crappie legend, and one heck of a dude yesterday. Many of us knew him and most learned a ton from him, as he was not afraid to share what he knew. He was a fighter and one of the toughest dudes I have ever known. Rest in peace, Russ.

Thanks for letting us know Chris. Yes Russ was a great man. RIP and God Bless Family and Friends during this tough time
I can see Russ doing the four fish hold in heaven. I learned a ton from him too. He always had time to answer a novice crappie anglers questions. You will be missed CrappiePro!

Sad news.

One of the best crappie fishermen I have ever known, and one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. Enjoyed the times I got to fish with him. He was happy to share his knowledge with others and did a lot to help lesser skilled fishermen. Rest In Peace, my friend. Prayers for you and your family.
