Took a trip out ahead of forecasted bad weather. Not many out cause water muddy , full of pollen , and rough at times today. Only kept 19 for a visiting couple but had some nice fish . Same Huckabee 13' Trident jig pole and 2.5'' Little Hustler in orange/chartreuse glow .Actually caught one big fish I released on a earlier trip as it had a clipped fin . I am ready for summer time . Past ready for the wind, extra water and pollen to be gone .

This ^ really depends on the body of water you are fishing. It’s all about he timing. (The wind has been brutal this year. )But I managed to get some good days on the water and catch the big spawning males till I got tired of cleaning them about a month ago. I think the spawn is over here down in SW AR
Now time to hunt the post spawn big females.

Me too. I tend to think the males are more important for a good spawn since they defend the eggs from predators. Of course you gotta have the females to produce and lay the eggs. I was taught by old timers to leave the males alone. I rarely single pole for males in shallow water and when I do, I like to catch and release. Just my 2 cents and I know many would disagree.
