Haven't been there this year but just drove across Delaware Bay a while ago. Normally, whenever they're spawning, several people will be along the banks fishing. There wasn't anybody doing this yet or any boats out there either.
Planning a trip to Dardanelle next week. Anyone know where we are at in the spawn. Early or late? Thanks for any info.

CATCH A BIG-UNRas thanked you for this post
I caught a dozen last Sunday at entrance to Piney Bay. Mostly schooling. Water depth 35-40. Crappie were 6-10 feet deep in the water column. No spawning. About half were females

Dardanelle usually later on the spawn than shallower lakes around here.Won't be too long if it stays warm . Seen my first fish on shallow corps lakes where males starting to turn dark this week.

We will be headed to Shoal Bay a week from tomorrow to stay for four days. Typically the fish are starting to move onto the shallows around that time, but are not full fledged spawning yet. Any temperature fluctuations move them in or out pretty quickly as well. We plan to long line a bit in some of the areas where we usually catch them during the spawn, but will stay out a bit deeper looking for them. If that doesn't work, we will try moving shallow, but they don't all go at the same time anyway. There will be a few shallow and a few out deeper. Moving around til you find em seems to be the key.

Thanks for the info. We ended up doing good Saturday and Sunday. Put a total of 101 fish in the box for both days. Biggest was 2lb9oz. Spider rigged 17' deep in 25fow in the narrows by Shoal bay.
