Look for brushpiles and stay back and cast to them
Family fishing trip there last week of March. I catch some crappie there but nothing to brag about. Last two years have really struggled. Ideas? Suggestions? Options? Have sonar, down and side imaging. No live scope. New to electronics but getting more and more educated. Appreciate any and all advice.

Thanks Nimrod. Should I start looking on points or flats off the creek channels? Or both. I'm assuming the crappie would be in pre spawn mode.
Never fished this lake but If the water temps are 60+ you may find them spawning. Explore any brushy cover near shore. 2-5 ft deep.

That should be about the right time for everything to turn on there red body and chartreuse tails let it fall slow
Got some. Midsouth tubes. Also got BG in electric chicken. However, my wife says that if we don't have any jigs in monkey milk she's not going. LoL!
Your wife is correct. Monkey shine (not milk) has been go to last few years on Ouachita. Mr. Crappie slabalicious brand. I do agree with many that color is overrated but it’s a confidence thing.

Have some friends at Little Fir now. Not catching much to speak of. Too much fresh water.
Leaving tomorrow morning for Hwy 27 Fishing Village. As is common for us when we go up there storms follow. But if my wife and I can catch a couple of slabs before the rain hits it will have been a good trip! Please pray for us that we have a safe trip and time on the lake regardless! Thanks brothers!
