Default Tips and general info for new crappie fisherman

Good afternoon! I have bass fished for years, but I am brand new this year to crappie fishing. I am looking for some general information or guidance, and some starting points on what/where to look when searching for crappie, and what techniques and baits etc to use. I have some basic jigs, and stuff for live bait as well. I am familiar with Ouachita, but I am looking to learn some new water as well. Thanks in advance!!

Spring is around the corner. They will be moving up to the shallow flats. They will be easier to find then.

Best piece of advice I have gotten was slow down. Sometimes they want a very slow retrieve

Many of the guys like using spot lock on the brush piles. What TM do you have? Learn you SI on your console as well. Great way to find good cover.
