Before I moved I mostly fished Reelfoot Lake and if they were showing 10 mph it was too much because that’s more like 20 or more there.

I watch when the lake starts getting whitecaps,,,after that it becomes dangerous to think loading boat back up with waves swamping your boat…

The problem isn't too much wind. The problem is your trolling motor isn't big enough! Just kidding. The safety factor has to be considered. Bigger lakes, bigger safety concerns.
When it starts to white cap is when I’ll normally call it but depends on tons of other factors too. If I can’t control the boat there’s no point in going for me
