Get low and use a long jig pole like a Trident or Phantom 13'
Any tips on how best to jig em?

Long pole, start off by pitching/ swinging from a distance, if they don’t hit , move closer. I pull the jig to my rod tip and poke it between the limbs where possible and let it down by the trunk. Hang on , it gets wild sometimes!
Probably my favorite way to fish.

Think about the drip line of the tree. Branches always fall down farther away from the trunk of the tree; there is cover for them to be around all under the branches. Start out a little ways out and work your way in. You’ll be surprised by how many are what some might think is too far out from the base of the tree.
I've done the pull the jig to the eye and poke the pole into any opening in the limbs that I can find but prefer to flip just like bass fishing if I can get them to bite that way.
I wish I was out there with you. I have fished very little this year. Having my rotator cuff worked on Thursday and am told I'll be in a sling for 6 weeks minimum.
so sad to hear about that rotar cuff. hope your recovery goes well. i understan your pain, have miseed a lot last 4-5 years fro knee replacement and back fusion surgeries. Guess I'm gonna have to find some of your brush piles so i can report to you on how well they are doing
