No secret on Greers. That's a huge recreational lake and can be quite busy with pleasure boats. It's a little over 3 hours for me so I don't fish it much in the summer. You might want to check the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission website and look at the fishing reports. You will find it in there.
Greers is a clear water lake and if I were you, I'd be looking to fish the north end of the lake where the water is not gin clear.

the water is gin clear no doubt about it , we were up near fairfield bay , and it was about as warm as bathtub water .
even the shoreline sunfish were in the 20 foot deep range , never could get a crappie to find my jigs ,think they were there but didn't have time to fish it hard enough to ketch them .
smallmouth bass ,longear ,bluegill and green sunfish was all I could find to take my jigs , none in less than around 20 foot or more deep .
maybe next time i suppose

I never fish deep clear lakes much . Too many people playing with boats and jet skis . Some our best hot weather fishing lakes tend to be shallow . Go figure that out .

I spearfished Greers several times in August about 10 years ago and never saw a crappie. I don’t go any deeper than 30 feet though. Saw lots of small smallmouths hangin on points and lots of anchors.
