    Default Lake levels

Seems like every time I talk to some at the ramp on COE lakes the subject turns to water levels . Either how much it dropped or how low level is . Nimrod has dropped a few inches but still above winter pool . Here is the link .

I am a Missouri resident, haven't fished in Arkansas in years, but I have a short story for you.

During the 1930's my father and uncle were transported by bus each day by the WPA via state hwy 28 to build Nimrod lake. They lived in the "metropolis" of Gravely AR. After WW11, they settled in Kansas City.

I check the Arkansas once in a while for old times sake.
Thanks NIMROD thanked you for this post

Interesting story . I knew old timers that were there before the lake . As a kid I enjoyed their stories about how things were . They talked about how tough travel was on old dirt roads and having to fix several flats to get from town to town . Hyw 60 being just dirt and how the land was and fish weirs built in the river . Life must have been tough back then .

To get to the "Fatherland" from KC we took Hwy 71 south to past Waldron, then E on Hwy 28. It was a dirt road almost all the way to Gravely when it turned to Yell county. Doesn't Hwy 28 go into Plainview?
