I've got a broken one, it sounds like a meat grinder now, I'm hoping that somebody has some good place to take it. I'm in Conway.

Sounds like a magnet has come loose in the motor. I don't know of anyone around Conway that works on them. What brand is it? H2O Sportz in Sherwood fixed mine but it was under warranty. I know it's a drive but there is a shop in Pine Bluff that is really good and reasonable on prices.

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but working on them yourself really isn't too bad. I recently had a similar issue in my minnkota, it would intermittently cut out.
That issue may be related to yours. There are two spring loaded brushes that make the connection to the armature, they can come loose or get stuck. If one came loose in yours, it may still be making the connection (enabling the motor to work), but it could be bouncing around as it spins.
If you'd like to self diagnose it, you can pull the prop, pull the two bolts under the prop, and remove the armature to access the brush assembly. Just make sure to keep track of and replace your seals.
Take this with a grain of salt. I am a software developer not a boat mechanic, but I bought an old boat for my first one and have spent a good bit of time working on it and researching.
I've attached a photo of my brush assembly. As you can see, the one on the left was hung up.
If it is a problem with the armature itself, I don't know much about repairing those other than replacing.
Hope this helps!

Well, I pulled it apart it looks like a piece of the magnet has and came loose. I took that small piece out and cleaned up all the bits and dusted it out, it still isn't working right. It sounds terrible.

The Trolling Motor Shop in Pine Bluff. 870-692-4161. Best I've dealt with, and I've dealt with several.
I was hoping for somewhere a little closer to me. The link shows Texarkana, that's about 2.5 hrs south of me. Thanks though. I talked with a guy at H2O, Josh I think was his name. He gave me some {ptions that I'm considering. I'll update when I decide.
